WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
In this day's workshop we will show you the art of screen printing from start to finish. From preparing your artwork and exposing the screen using the photo-emulsion method and finally printing your design onto a t-shirt or tote. Beginning with your own artwork we will guide you through each stage of the process, using water based inks you'll be able to mix your own colour too. During the workshop we will provide you with plain cotton fabrics to practise your skills before moving onto your t-shirt or tote.
WHAT EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED?
This is a great workshop for anyone interested in the screen-printing process, hobbyists or those wanting to learn a new skill. If you’ve been to a previous introductory screen printing workshop with us this is also a great opportunity for you to develop any further ideas with more time in this workshop and gives more hands-on opportunity.
WHAT’S INCLUDED?
All basic materials are included in this workshop such as inks, drawing materials, tools and equipment. In the workshop you will be given the choice of a T-shirt or tote bag to print on and you will leave with two t-shirts or totes, depending on which you choose.
T-shirts - You may choose two different sizes of t-shirt for your design and sizing ranges from S-XXL, if you require another size please let us know in advance. Additional T-shirts can be purchased. T-shirts will be white, 100% Cotton.
Totes - 100% cotton totes in natural colour. Additional totes can be purchased too.
WHAT TO PREPARE?
Before the workshop, it would be useful to think about the design you want to print and prepare some ideas for your artwork. There will be time in the session to create your design, we will supply you with specialist marker pens to draw onto the acetate (this will be used to expose your design onto a prepared screen)
We will be aiming to produce a one colour print and can be up to A4 in size.
WHERE?
Workshops will take place at our KIN.DER studio, Glossop Gasworks, Arundel Street SK13 7AB. Parking is available at the back of the Gasworks or there are car parks on Edward St & Bernard St
